Joe’s Garage began in Queenstown way back in 2000. Their mission was simple and very effective. Joe’s was to be a place where everybody could go to have fun, enjoy brilliant coffee, delicious, flavoursome food, listen to great music, catch up with friends in an under-stated garage environment whilst being looked after by hip, friendly and enthusiastic staff. Joe’s soon struck a chord with the people of Queenstown- our mantra of “quick, clean and tasty” made us an overnight sensation-so much so we became “New Zealand’s Café of The Year” in 2003. Our Christchurch operation , which opened in 2007, shared similar success – runner-up in 2008, and voted the best Café in Christchurch the same year.

The Joe’s menu has been designed around the GO FAST philosophy of serving a great tasting meal without the wait. Including several simple Kiwi classics, it has something to cater for all tastes and needs.

We are excited about bringing Joe’s Garage to the Café capital of New Zealand, located centrally at a refurbished 5 Tory Street. We are open daily from 7am until late, and are fully licensed for an after work (or lunchtime!) drink and a great night out. The Garage is also available for private functions 7 nights a week from 6pm- simply call Owner/Manager Blair Clement , tell us what you need and we would love to look after you.
